Sr. HR Business Partner - Americas

Job Summary

Meltwater is looking for a Sr. HR Business Partner/Manager – Americas (HRBP) who will report to the VP of Human Resources and will partner with the Americas Sales organization to drive HR initiatives across North America, Canada and Latin America. The ideal candidate will make a significant impact by establishing world class HR practices in one of the most visible groups in the company and excel in a fast-pace, high engagement environment with extraordinary desire to innovate. The HRBP will be on the front line working closely with employees, managers and other HR team members to provide hands-on and strategic input, insight and advice with respect to talent management, employee relations, coaching, employee development, compensation, conflict management, organizational development, training and more. The HRBP will be comfortable speaking up and driving initiatives forward despite any unexpected roadblocks.


  • Provide unique insight regarding people and organizational dynamics. Translate this insight into sustainable, customized business solutions.
  • Identify, develop and implement business effectiveness initiatives and strategies that contribute to building and sustaining a high-performance sales organization.
  • Partner with managers on talent assessment and workforce planning.
  • Coach managers on effective leadership strategies and interventions involving leadership development and change management.
  • Establish and optimize HR policies that support an entrepreneurial, fast-paced sales organization with offices throughout the US, including a heavy emphasis in supporting Meltwater’s East Coast Region.
  • Workday development and management.
  • Management of inside and outside HR and staffing resources.
  • Able to develop a deep understanding for the company’s culture and innovate ways to ensure culture development throughout the organization. Make Meltwater a highly desired and productive workplace.
  • Deep knowledge of HR compliance issues throughout the US and prior experience bringing start-up cultures into HR compliance in multiple states.
  • ER issue management and training. Employee participation and surveys.
  • Performance review plan set-up.
  • Assist in the development of salary models and compensation plans for a growing company utilizing Radford.
  • Deep experience with sales compensation models and working with sales teams/FP&A to model sales comp plans.
  • Scale the people functions through organizational development, support tools, cost-effective HR systems and HR communications.
  • Benefits & payroll administration; compliance, advising and interfacing with legal as required.


  • BA/BS degree in related field, with a minimum 10 years of experience in Human Resources generalist/business partner capacity and recent experience supporting a sales organization.
  • Prior experience in a SaaS company or related fast-paced, software business with heavy emphasis on sales.
  • Strong business acumen and proven ability to integrate HR and business strategies: understanding of business/financial metrics and experience with managing the HR challenges associated with business partnerships.
  • Proven ability to contribute to the design and implementation of HR strategies, programs and processes in support of the overall business strategy.
  • Demonstrated analytical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills.
  • Ability to listen and understand the needs of the employees, together with those of the business.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to stylistically adapt communication based on audience and successfully influence at all levels of the organization.
  • Startup experience is a plus.
  • Successful experience as an HR leader in a 300- to 700-person company.
  • Demonstrated leadership, people management and coaching skills.
