Arkansas: Individuals with Disabilities May Be Accompanied in Public Accommodations by Certain Service Dogs

Law Includes All Service Dogs Authorized for Accompaniment Under the Americans with Disabilities Act
Arkansas has amended its nondiscrimination law to provide that individuals with disabilities may be accompanied in public accommodations by certain service dogs.
Background
Under current Arkansas law, every individual with visual, hearing, or other physical disabilities has the right to be accompanied by a service animal especially trained to do work or to perform tasks for the benefit of an individual with a disability in or upon any and all public ways, public places, and other public accommodations (section: 20-14-303)--and may not be required to pay any extra fee or charge for the service animal.
Amended Law
Under the amended law, every individual with visual, hearing, or other disabilities has the right to be accompanied by a service animal (as described above) and to be accompanied by a service dog as defined in Titles II and III of the federal Americans with Disabilities Act (as it existed on January 1, 2017)--and may not be required to pay any extra fee or charge for the service animal.
