Washington State Increases Minimum Wage to $9.53 Per Hour

New Rate Effective January 1, 2017
The state of Washington has announced that the state minimum wage will increase to $9.53 per hour (from $9.47 per hour), effective January 1, 2017.
The new rate of $9.53 per hour applies to all jobs, including agricultural jobs. Youth under the age of 16 can be paid up to 85% of this rate ($8.10 per hour) beginning January 1, 2017, when the new rate takes effect.
